Crispy Chicken Burgers

Swear to God these are juicy and delicious but may not be want exaaaaactly what you have in mind when you think of a chicken burger but I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Pair this with my crispy oven fries or toss some frozen fries in the oven while you’re working on these.

I also threw in a recipe for a quick, garlic mayo to put on top to add a bit more tasty-ness to the entire experience. Did you make it, let me know!

Tools needed:

  • Frying Pan

  • Measuring Cup

  • Knife & Cutting Board

  • Large Plate or Baking Sheet

  • Large Mixing Bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken breast

  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs (can be panko or regular breadcrumbs) + a little extra to the side

  • ½ medium yellow or white onion, minced

  • ¼ cup milk

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • 4 hamburger buns

  • 4 slices of provolone

  • A bunch of arugula

  • Sliced red onion

  • All the seasonings you like and shit: I usually add about a half a tablespoon each of sea salt & fresh ground black pepper, and whatever other seasonings I’m feeling in the moment.

Instructions

  1. Mix everything together and let sit for 20-30 minutes, allowing all the flavors to meld and get to room temperature.

  2. While you wait, take the time to sprinkle the little extra breadcrumbs on a plate and get your burger toppings together, these burgers are best served hot.

  3. Form four (maybe 6) even sized balls, pressing them into thin patties after forming.

  4. Heat large frying pan on medium heat, adding enough vegetable oil to coat the bottom of the frying pan.

  5. Take the first patty and press one side into the plated breadcrumbs. Carefully flip the patty and coat the other side, then transfer to another plate. Repeat for the remaining patties.

  6. Place each patty in the heated frying pan, cooking until the first side is browned (about 4-6 minutes).

  7. Flip and continue cooking until both sides are browned and the patty is cooked through.

  8. Transfer to a dressed and waiting bun. Enjoy!

Garlic Mayo

This is good on everything, even a pita situation.

Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons of your favorite mayonnaise (NOT Cool Whip)

  • 3-4 large garlic cloves, pressed

  • 1 tsp lemon juice

  • 1 tsp + 3 tablespoons EVOO

  • Sea salt

  • Fresh cracked black pepper

Whisk everything together and let sit while you cook everything else, for maximum flavor.

**Pro tip: this makes a fucking awesome turkey burger too. Get some ground turkey and switch it up.**
